Fashion is Funny
Feat. looks such as Wet Dream on Elm Street, Less is Matador, and Patrick Swayze in Ghost.
Last week, we dressed sexy together. Don’t you feel close to me? Now, it’s time to *leafs through the pages of Starting a Cult for Dummies* alienate everyone else in your life by dressing like a clown. Just kidding, if anything, this will make you a sheer delight to be around and you will Win Friends and Influence People.
I wrote my thesis on how the ways people’s bodies interact with strangers’ bodies innocuously in public create a strong sense of physical community, which translates to psychic community. One of my main beliefs I try to perpetuate on HR is the idea that clothing, as an intentional extension of the body, has the power to mediate these interactions, weakening or strengthening the micro-community of people the wearer interacts with on a daily basis, and one of the easier ways to strengthen community is through a sense of humor.
The following ten (!!) fits play with shape, color, imagery, themes, and visual gags in ways that will let everyone who sees you know that you are HERE FOR A GOOD TIME and you want them to join you.
The looks aaaare:
Wet Dream on Elm Street, My Glare Lady, Shit-Eating Grin, Less is Matador, Put Some Hair on Your Chest, Ring Around the Neck-y, Big Bug, South Florida Barbie, Patrick Swayze in Ghost, and Clown About Town. If these sound compelling to you…
